Travel Notes Musical Special: A Corporate Refuted

I’m a massive Hamilton fan; every musical I’ve seen since has utterly failed to compete in the same league and ‘ Farmer Disputed ’ remains my favourite song.

In chatting with a friend recently I suggested it could be used as an example of ‘Formal’ corporate communication vs. ‘Rebellious’ users/customers who just wanting to have their opinions heard.

The song captures trends of how disruptive firms are changing how they talk to their users to build trusting relationships over transactional tit for tat.

Elitism to Humour

Superiority to Equality

Platitudes to Honesty

You can even see the journey from confidence to indignation as the ‘Corporate’ orator becomes increasingly frustrated, Elon Musk personified?

Therefore in the spirit of fun, and to (literally) whistle away time on the 18 hour coach journey I’m currently on, I present to you, a Corporate (voice) refuted.
